All non-governmental charity groups are welcome to join our 'Food Donation Alliance'! |
| Food donation programmes have benefited a large number of people in Hong Kong. According to a conservative estimate, needy people make over 550,000 visits to food banks in Hong Kong each year. To reduce garbage and to help grassroots citizens to feed their families, the 'Food Donation Alliance' has been set up by Friends of the Earth (HK) with non-governmental charity groups in July 2012. |

Aims of forming the Food Donation Alliance: |

- For food banks: build larger networks, thus be able to receive more food donation from commercial sector;
- For the commercial sector: find out the needs of local food banks in Hong Kong, thus be able to donate food;
- For grassroots communities/social welfare agencies: enable grassroots people to find out the service provided by food banks, and to enable food recycling groups to re-direct food surplus to each other.
